  • This course provides an overview of computer hardware and software, and provides experience using Windows operating systems. Discussion topics and hands-on activities include input/output devices, disk maintenance, software/hardware installation, data processing and storage, data communications, application software, graphics and new media, careers in the computer field, and the future of computer and technology.

    Co/Prerequisite: CSC104 Information Processing

  • This course is designed provide individuals with a complete introduction to database concepts and the relational database model. Topics include QBE, SQL, normalization,  design methodology, DBMS functions, database administration, and other database management approaches, such as client/server databases, object oriented databases, and data warehouses. At the completion of this course, students should be able to understand a user’s database requirements and translates those requirements into a valid database design.

    Prerequisites:  CSC104, CSC105

  • This second course in computer programming builds on previously learned programming concepts and introduces more  advanced topics such as implementing abstract data types, creating objects and understanding the relationships among classes of objects.

    Prerequisite: CSC240

  • This capstone course provides an overview to the systems development life cycle, from the analysis of information requirements to the development of an effective business system. Students will apply the tools of systems analysis and design in a project encompassing programming and application principles studied in prior courses.

    Prerequisites: Last Quarter of Advisor Approval

  • This course provides in-depth coverage of Internet and Intranet web pages design principles using HTML. Classroom assignments and projects will include the design and implementation of Intranets for use within a corporation.
